The Business Connect program is a part-subsidised business advisory service for small businesses funded by the NSW Department of Industry.
To receive support under the Business Connect program, participants must agree to the following Terms and Conditions of Service:
Terms and Conditions of Service
You/Client means any individual intending to start a business or a small business owner or operator who is eligible for and provided with any part of the Services under the Program, either through a Service Provider or directly by the Department.
Service Provider means any organisation the Department contracts to provide Business Connect services.
Department means the NSW Department of Industry, Skills and Regional Development.
The Department will collect and retain information you provide in the Department’s online diagnostic system. This includes information you provide when registering for the program, information you provide through evaluation and/or Client satisfaction surveys the Department (or third party providers) sends you and information Service Providers record in the Department’s online diagnostic system about the support they provide you with and any outcomes resulting from that support.
Confidential business information
Service Providers (including Business Advisors and Presenters) who deliver Business Connect services will use information about your business that you (as the Client) choose to share with them, to provide confidential, tailored business advice, information and services to help you start or grow your business.
You (as the Client) do not have to provide any business or personal information to the Service Provider if you do not wish to do so, however this may reduce the ability of the Service Provider to fully understand your business and provide you with the most appropriate or relevant advice or support.
The advice and guidance you receive under the Business Connect program is confidential and between you and the Service Provider delivering support to you as a Client.
The Department can access all Client information recorded in the online diagnostic system; however under normal circumstances, the Department will not access individual Client records. If the Department is legally required to access individual records, the Department will notify the Client prior to accessing the record.
Your right to Privacy
The New South Wales Government's privacy practices are regulated by the New South Wales Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (the Act).
You may access and correct your information by ringing (02) 9934 0657 or email email@example.com
Anyone engaged to collect, store or use personal information for the Department will be required to comply with the Information Protection Principles of the Act as part of their terms of engagement.
The Department accepts no responsibility, and will accept no liability for the accuracy, currency, reliability or correctness of any advice, recommendation, or information a Service Provider gives you in delivering Business Connect services.
Business Connect is a part-subsidised service and some Business Connect services require a Client contribution.
The Service Provider will inform you of any Client contribution that you are required to pay prior to the Service Provider providing the services. If you are required to pay any Client contribution you must pay this directly to the Service Provider prior to them providing you with Business Connect services, in accordance with the Service Provider’s terms of payment.
